Eagle Outdoor Sports, Inc. launches eight multi-day rafting trips per year on the Yampa River and Green River’s Gates of Lodore. By traversing these permit-only whitewater river sections, the interior of Dinosaur National Monument is accessible-- and within the monument are protected archaeological sites and biological ecosystems. Dinosaur National Monument holds pristine, intact and irreplaceable resources which reveal an 11,000 year record of continuous human occupation, cultural development, and exploration from Paleo-Indian culture to the present. It holds delicate desert river landscapes and one of the oldest exposed geologic records on the earth. In more recent recorded history available to us, fur trappers, explorers, and early boaters set the stage for whitewater boating on Dinosaur National Monument's wild rivers. We continue this tradition, facilitating your access to rafting in the canyons of Dinosaur National Monument, protecting the resources within the monument, and creating opportunities to understand what is here.
We are committed to providing you the highest quality interactive experience in Dinosaur National Monument. Behind the scenes, we focus on the technical aspects of whitewater rafting and safety, healthful food, and an academically-oriented interpretation of the resources in the monument. We are proud of our safety record, guest to guide ratios, and history of bringing innovative products to commercial use within the monument. In 1996, Eagle Outdoor Sports, Inc. became the first outfitter within the monument to standardize the availability of an AED on every trip. In 2024, we standardized our use of raft re-entry assists, rapid visual identifiers of youth and at-risk adults, and capped re-use of guest life jackets. In 2025, we’re testing the use of communication devices as a complement to our ability to provide assistance in minutes-matter events and we are looking ongoing to implement technologies, best practices and evidence-based information to make your rafting trip within the canyons an excellent experience.
In support of our mission and environmental stewardship, Eagle Outdoor Sports, Inc. is committed to meeting and striving to exceed all applicable environmental compliance regulations and operating in a manner that prevents pollution, reduces energy and fuel consumption, and promotes sustainable best management practices.
We maintain a list of qualified guides, drivers, and guide assists for seasonal employment from mid-May to mid-August.
