From the meeting location of Vernal, Utah, we will transport you by shuttle to the river put-in at Deerlodge Park Campground in Dinosaur National Monument. You'll meet your River Guides and River Trip Leader for an orientation talk, fitting of protective gear, and a quick repack of your belongings into our outfitter drybags. We'll tell you about our campsites in the monument, where to find essentials, and the best things to enjoy along our route. Your launch on the Yampa River begins along a wide, calm stretch which gradually enters steep and dramatic canyon walls, then finding rolling Class II rapids. When reaching your first camp, your guides will give you a tutorial of how to set up your sleep kit, where to find essentials, and will prepare food for the group. Before evening-end, whether spent in a short hike, conversation, reading, or private meditation, you will have a chance to experience dark sky stargazing within Dinosaur National Monument...
